With a total of 31 pilgrims making the journey, in that respect is a possibility for a wide
diversity; however, several be of the cloth. Though they are all from different parts of
the like country, each represents a different aspect of religion at the time. Even though
the work was written several centuries earlier than now, the Monk, the Parson, and the
friar represent problems and favorable aspects of the clergy that were present then and
now.
The Monk represents the change over and adaptation of religion. The Rule of good

Though many churches exist in every city, an individual can be exiled from his own faith

in faith his sermon transforms into a new, modern belief. Without a modernizing of

represents the good that many people of religion have and are. This noble example to

Though corruption and greed had stretched its loathsome claw into many prominant members
of the church, one man stands alone with the wolves to cherish his flock. With a
congregation willing to tithe, he gives back to the people be helping and guiding them.
